Come, grasshopper, to a serene mountain sanctuary where vegetables are organic, tuna is always dolphin-safe and even carnivores graze safely on antibiotic-free meat.

I am talking, of course, about The Soka Bistro.

Soka is the Aliso Viejo-based Buddhist University that sits, like Shangri-La itself, on a scenic mountaintop overlooking the tract-home cluttered hillsides of south Orange County. Given its setting and the school’s stated principles of “peace, human rights and the sanctity of life” I wondered if the food served in the school’s “Bistro” might lead one to nirvana? (Full review)
